HOW DOES A PDO THREAD LIFT WORK?

PDO threads combat the effects of gravity by using surgical sutures to lift the face, creating a tightening effect on the skin and muscle. There are two types of PDO Threads that are commonly used: barbed threads and smooth threads.

After the patient is numbed for comfort, barbed threads are inserted with precision into the treatment areas. They are latched into position and then pulled to lift and tighten the muscle and facial skin into the desired position, before the excess thread is cut and discarded. Using barbed threads effectively tightens loose skin, and can restore definition in the jawline and neck areas by doing so.

Smooth threads, can also be placed into areas such as the nasolabial folds to increase collagen and reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles. PDO thread lifts are a versatile treatment and especially great for giving definition to the jawline and lifting the brows. Collagen is also produced as the threads dissolve, rejuvenating the overlying skin as well.

WHEN WILL I SEE RESULTS?

You’ll notice an immediate lift and tightness to the skin immediately after treatment, however, full results will be revealed with a week when slight swelling subsides.

HOW LONG DO RESULTS LAST?

Thread lift procedures at Dr. Sharon Aesthetics can last up to two years. PDO threads will fully dissolve within 6-8 months, but the best part is that you will still be able to enjoy the benefits and improvement due to the increased collagen production that is stimulated.

SIDE EFFECTS

The most common side effects with thread lifts are bruising, swelling and dimpling. Most side effects are minimal, if they do occur, and severe bruising is not commonly reported.
